The 1948 Lincoln Continental is a true classic – regal and timeless. It’s the kind of car that represented its era so distinctly. And that very vehicle is the inspiration for this styled shoot. Remember the masculine James Bond themed wedding styled shoot? Well this one is it’s upbeat, feminine counterpart. Both were part of Wedding Wars – a series of styled weddings at The Vehicle Vault automobile gallery that drew inspiration from classic cars. In the case of this lovely midcentury wedding, I think the styled shoot team did a great job of capturing classic Americana – a time when things were built with purpose and style. A time when things were made to last.
The team created a 1940’s diner setup adjacent to their inspiration car and served up comfort food and milkshakes. The bride wore a kicky tea length dress, a short sting of pearls, a darling blusher veil, and decade-appropriate hair and makeup. Vintage household items and ephemera added interest to their displays and complimented the car so well. The beautiful floral motifs repeated throughout are echoed perfectly in both the gorgeous floral arrangements and the lovely paper goods. And of course, who could complain about American staples like Rice Crispy Treats, pie, and traditional wedding cake? This shoot feels like a classic.
