When I stumbled upon Melissa Mullins’s milk bath boudoir, I was gobstopped. The milk bath concept is a genius one and her photography skills are just incredible. Boudoir in itself is so beautiful but milk bath boudoir is a million times more beautiful yet. The super tight shots (made necessary by the size of the pool) feel that much more intimate. The models’ bodies emerging from the fluid seem otherworldly like a person appearing in a thick fog. The opacity of the liquid allows a sculpting quality that is magically slimming – showcasing only the parts and amounts of the body that flatter most while obscuring any others. Liquid’s tendencies toward surface tension mean that the milk creates incredibly soft curves and dips around the body. The overall effect is brilliantly feminine, graceful, and smooth; even when funkier elements like color, confetti, or cherries are added. The last image from this set is magic. I want to blow it up and put in my house it’s so perfect! So if you want to document this time in your life, create something unexpected for that special someone on your wedding day, or hell…have the coolest trash the dress ever…call up Melissa Mullins Photography stat!

I’m so in love with Melissa’s work that I asked to share some other examples! Not only does she excel at standard boudoir photography, her milk bath and underwater sessions are novel and sensationally artistic. And the black and whites just take things to another level of artistic. I’m kind of a fan-girl now. I’m not ashamed to say it!
