For photographers whose name implies a somewhat cavalier attitude toward shooting, From the Hip Photo’s shots look nothing but perfectly executed. But in all seriousness, today’s Blanc engagement and wedding styled shoot was painfully difficult for me to narrow down. Even the models’ test shots were so stunning that I didn’t want to eliminate them. These models command the room in a tee shirt and jeans with a white backdrop. For real. And that was before everything got going. (Those shots follow the post.) I also had to break my usual rule about story continuity because there was no way for me to choose one bridal gown, nor to remove the pin-up inspired apron shots. Just so much eye candy!
Blanc is the chameleon of venues. It has just enough character to make it distinctive but plenty of “blank slate” areas and neutral colors to let imaginations run wild. Today’s shoot utilized both aspects of its character. I know well of each vendor’s prowess on this dream team and I’m confident they had an incredible day of shooting. Even with the rain limiting them they turned out more completely unique photo sets than I typically get in 3 such shoots! They gave us 4 incredible (and damn sexy I might say) dresses, multiple hairstyles, 3 perfect little cakes, lush florals, adorable accessories and vignettes, 3+ shoots in one (glamour, proposal, and wedding), and more locations than you could shake a stick at. Given that, I doubt you can blame me for the excessively large album. But in my defense, there is enough variety to keep things moving.
